Since sharing the beginning of this journey, our Slow It Down film has continued to unfold. What began as a project inspired by my original song, an invitation to calm the mind and return to the present moment, has grown into something more. Something truly magical. There are moments in a creative process when everything seems to align without force, as if the work is simply waiting for you to arrive.
While the Portland shoot in early March unfolded from a distance for me, I felt deeply connected to what was being created there. Dancers Jakub Jakoubek and Emeline Rochefeuille brought such extraordinary fluidity and presence, and even remotely, I could feel the intention and beauty in every frame. That energy stayed with me, and when director Lindsay Gauthier came to Florida for the next chapter of Slow It Down, I felt it was ready to emerge more fully.

We filmed in beautiful Longboat Key under the shifting sky of a rare Florida rainstorm. The clouds moved in and out, revealing and concealing the sun in a gentle rhythm. The horizon stretched endlessly, both grounding and open. As the light changed, it quietly reshaped the landscape. The setting sun cast a warm glow across the sand, and the shoreline reflected it back in soft, natural tones.
Working with Lindsay and Billy in that environment felt intuitive and grounded. There was a shared focus between us, a kind of unspoken understanding, where everything flowed easily. The wind moved through the space, the tide kept its steady rhythm, and the light seemed to come at just the right moments. At sunset, the colors deepened into soft layers of amber and blue, and the horizon began to blur.
Standing there, barefoot at the edge of the water, I didn’t feel like I was performing. I felt like I was listening. There was a sense of energy moving through the space, and all I needed to do was stay present enough to let it unfold.
Now Lindsay is back in San Francisco, shaping these moments together, all the material filmed in Portland and here in Florida, into a single story. I can feel that something special is taking form.
I’m looking forward to sharing the final film with you very soon.
