Slow It Down: The Journey Continues

Since sharing the beginning of this journey, our Slow It Down film has continued to unfold. What began as a project inspired by my original song, an invitation to calm the mind and return to the present moment, has grown into something more. Something truly magical. There are moments in a creative process when everything seems to align without force, as if the work is simply waiting for you to arrive.

A New Visual Project

Earlier this month we filmed a new visual work for my song “Slow It Down,” and I’m really excited about what’s beginning to take shape. The project centers on choreography created and performed by dancers Jakub Jakoubek and Emeline Rochefeuille, known together as J’Em.

Announcing My Collaboration with Paul Avgerinos: Multi-GRAMMY® Winning Artist, Producer & Engineer

I’m happy to share some great news: I’m starting a new collaboration with Paul Avgerinos – a Multi-GRAMMY® Winning Artist, Composer, Producer, and Engineer whose music is broadcast all over the world.

Today Paul works at Studio Unicorn, where deer pass by the windows and hawks and eagles inspire from above.

What to expect from us: intimate vocals, luminous atmospheres, and songs designed to breathe – music you can feel in your chest, not just hear in your ears. I can’t wait to share more as it unfolds.

He is an amazing musician! I’ve been collaborating with him for months and I finally met him live in person!

A look back at 2024

2024 brought many gifts. With Alan Bergman’s recommendation, I collaborated with Bill Cantos and Mari Falcone on original music and several standards from the “Great American Songbook.”

I also studied voice with singer/songwriter Nicki Wells during the year. Writing quite a few original songs was an absolute joy, and I loved every moment of the creative process!

I am deeply grateful for this incredible creative opportunity and for the chance to work with such talented artists. A special thank you to Daniel Hendrick for helping me climb the ladder to access higher notes! Love and gratitude also go to my voice teacher, Nicki Wells, for her intuitive guidance, which helped me grow vocally and move toward a higher consciousness through mantras and meditation.

A Journey of Music, Art, and Spirituality

Leayh (Leah’s chosen name) discovered her love for singing at an early age, sparking a lifelong passion for music. She started her musical journey in the second grade and has continued to share her voice with the world ever since.

Throughout her illustrious career, Leayh has showcased her talents in a variety of artistic mediums. She has modeled internationally, performed as a vocalist with symphony orchestras and big bands, graced the stages of jazz festivals, and acted in dinner theatres and industrial films. Her versatility as an artist is evident in the breadth of her performances and collaborations.

Leayh and her late husband, Kenny Soderblom, shared many unforgettable musical moments together. They performed numerous concerts and recorded several CDs, captivating audiences with their chemistry and talent. Their performances included special appearances for Patty Duke and the Sunshine from Darkness Foundation, as well as numerous jazz concerts and social engagements. The couple also entertained select audiences on prestigious Crystal and Regent cruise lines.

A true multi-ranged performer, Leayh sings in several languages and effortlessly navigates through genres, including jazz standards from The Great American Songbook, Broadway treasures, Brazilian classics, and her original compositions. Her rich and diverse repertoire has made her a cherished performer on stages around the world.

Leayh’s artistic expression extends beyond singing; she is also a passionate songwriter and photographer. She attended the Berkeley School of Music online, where she honed her songwriting skills, focusing primarily on spiritual compositions, including several written in Sanskrit with lyrics transcribed by Venkatakrishna Sastry. Her photography is another outlet for her creativity, where she captures the beauty of birds, flowers, sunsets, and landscapes with a keen and loving eye.

Leayh has collaborated with an impressive array of musicians over the years, including Brazilian guitarist and singer Paulinho Garcia, John Oddo, Kenny Drew, Jr., Richard Drexler, Judy Roberts, Jay Leonhart, Bucky Pizzarelli, David Finck, Jim Saporito, Bob Mann, Tony Padlock, Lawrence Feldman, Harold Jones, Chuck Parr, Patrick Henry, Kevin Winard, LaRue Nickelson, Patrick Bettison, and Mark Neuenswander.
